Sultana Raisin Light Brown
Sultana Raisins Light Brown are dried Seedless grapes of the Vitis vinifera species. Customers also know this raisin as Malayer Raisin or Seedless Thompson. As it is clear from its name the color of this raisin is light brown. Farmers start processing the light brown raisin with double washing it. Then we dry it in the shadows and coat them with vegetable oil so it doesn’t lose its moisture too quickly. Also, so the berries don’t stick to each other. Besides, the oil gives berries a moderate shine. The next step is to remove the stems and clean them. The final step is laser sorting them.

Sultana Raisin Dark Brown
Sultana Raisins Dark Brown are dried Seedless grapes of the Vitis vinifera species. Customers also know this raisin as Dark Brown Raisin or Seedless Dark Thompson. As it is clear from its name the color of this raisin is dark brown. Farmers start processing the dark brown raisin with double washing it. Then we dry it under the sun and coat them with vegetable oil so it doesn’t lose its moisture too quickly. Also, so the berries don’t stick to each other. Besides, the oil gives berries a moderate shine. The next step is to remove the stems and clean them. The final step is laser sorting them.Because of the high sugar level of raisins, they taste quite sweet.The Standard Level of SO2 (Sulfur dioxide) for Dark Brown Raisins is Zero. In Other words, Sultana Raisin Dark Brown has no SO2 added.This raisin berry size is generally between 300 to 380 pieces per 100 gr. So, compared to Sultana Raisin Light Brown they are a bit smaller.

The history of raisin
The raisin was discovered accidentally, many years before Christ. People ate grapes but did not know that if they were to dry the grape, it would become this useful and delicious dried fruit called the raisin. Historians claim that the Phoenicians and Armenians were the first nations to produce raisin. Phoenicians established vineyards in Spain and Greece that were fitting for cultivating raisins and the Armenians established their vineyards in Iran, Turkey and Iraq. The Greeks and Romans had a high demand for raisin and then other countries started to use raisins as well.
Botany of the grape
The grape is from the vitaceae family and has more than 800 varieties. The most common variety of grape is the vinifera. Grapes can be different colors, such as green, red, purple and yellow. Grapes can be eaten plain or processed into raisin, fruit juice and marmalade.
